Community Engagement Officers

Roles

Our Community Engagement Officers team includes three distinct roles, with interconnected responsibilities. You can contact the Community Engagement Officers at ceo@cascadia.edu, or submit a design request at Student Life Resources.

Our Graphic Designer CEOs create all the visual content for our promotional materials. They design posters, flyers, sandwich boards, brochures, stickers, and logos displayed around campus for the Office of Student Life and student clubs. Additionally, they produce digital content, such as web banners, animated videos, and motion graphics. They work closely with the Events and Advocacy Board (EAB) to design promotional materials for their events.
The Outreach & Marketing CEOs are actively engaged on campus, connecting with students through tabling events and mobile marketing visits. They distribute Cascadia-themed giveaways, encourage students to sign up for our weekly e-newsletter, Kody’s Weekly, and invite them to follow us on social media for the latest updates and events. These CEOs also present in classes, helping new students connect with involvement opportunities within The Office of Student Life and student clubs. They bring Cascadia’s mascot, Kody the Kodiak, to life and manage their public appearances. Additionally, they handle day-to-day tasks such as hanging posters around campus, designing and distributing the TP Times in every restroom, updating the student clubs bulletin board, and compiling campus announcements for the weekly newsletter.
The Social Media Specialist CEO leads marketing strategies by creating an innovative and fun social media presence for The Office of Student Life. This CEO creates promotional videos and reels for upcoming events, captures photos and videos at events, and develops engaging social media content to boost student interaction. The CEO works closely with the Events & Advocacy Board (EAB) to brainstorm content and foster collaboration, with the goal of encouraging student attendance at events. Additionally, this CEO manages a marketing and social media calendar and supports club leaders in promoting their events to students.

Portrait of Mia Chang

Mia Chang (she/her) – Outreach & Marketing

Hi! My name is Mia Chang (she/her). I’m a second year Running Start student studying Computer Science. I joined Student Life to become more involved in my community and meet new people. I chose Cascadia because it’s close to home and offers interesting classes that are relevant to my long-term goals. To new students, I’d recommend going to school events because they’re fun and it gives you the opportunity to meet new people! After Cascadia, I plan to transfer to a university, such as UW Bothell, to study computer science and biology with the goal of working in the biotechnology industry. My hobbies include playing volleyball, video games, drawing, and hanging out with friends. My favorite snack is dried mango, but I also love boba and matcha flavored sweets!
